Selena Gomez One-Ups Miley Cyrus, Quits Entire Internet
Watch out, Miley Cyrus; Selena Gomez has just thrown down a challenge, in a big-time way.
In an apparent bid to trump the Hannah Montana sensation's recent decision to abandon her Twitter account, the Wizards of Waverly Place star has announced that she no longer uses the entire Internet.
Gomez tells Seventeen magazine,
"I've given up the Internet. I don't read comments, and I don't go on any of the sites anymore, and I just feel better. And it's not about being a celebrity, you get on MySpace, Facebook, there's all these different outlets where people can just feel like nobody's watching them so they can just say whatever they want to say, and that gets dangerous sometimes."
Ball's in your court, Miley.
We smell the makings of an epic anti-technological face-off here. Expect Gomez to begin traveling exclusively by horse-drawn carriage, and Cyrus to begin communicating solely via telegraph, in the near future.

1st_Selena's a liar shes says she given up on the internet and yet she still uses her twitter. Liar!! 2nd the miley hate has got to stop. Miley is a great role model for teens not 6 year olds. Miley doesnt want 6 year old fans anymore she wants people her aga and older. So 17 and up!! She prefomed at the TEEN Choice Awards not the KIDS choice awards! Big difference. And she wasn't even pole dancing that called holding on to a pole and dancing next to it. If you want to see really pole dancing watch an episode of rock of love. You'll find Real strippers there. I like Selena Gomez, she is a pretty girl and a good girl. I do not really like Miley Cyrus excpet for her songs. Selena is better than Miley, Selena never gets in trouble or have controversy like Miley does almost every month. Selena is a role model for teens and children, not Miley; she is in no way a role model. I don't think Selena is saying she is quitting the internet to 1-up Miley , I think she is quitting because of the nasty comments, Selena is such a sweet, caring person, and deserves a break from the disgusting hate comments and e-mails.! Plus no matter what ANYONE says she is such a great role model for everyone, she has good morals and she interprets her life in such a clean, positive way. Plus she never has to fight for attention, not like Miley who can only get it by trashing Twilight and talking before thinking!

oh my goodness, some people just need to get over themselves. i don't believe selena was trying to "beat miley", i think she was simply saying, she doesn't read the comments of the rude people. she still uses her twitter, just as a means of telling her followers of upcoming shows, and she does get on myspace every now and again, to update her loyal fans who may not have twitter. and, who could blame her really? have any of you seen some of the comments about her on her websites? they're just plain CRUEL! which, in my opinion is unfair and completely off base. selena seems like a geniune person who just likes to sing and act, and further her career. she seems like a person who loves her family, texas, and her friends. so again, to those who are hating on selena, you must truly have no life of your own, if you have to gossip about someone who has, so far, done nothing wrong.

What she said was that she does mot read or go to the gossip & blog sites anymore. she does not read them & therefore feels better. I thonk this has been taken out of context. She Tweeted on Twitter as recently as Sunday and then about Tuesday she updated her status line on Facebook. I do not believe she is giving up entirely. I think she is just take a break over the holidays. We will just have to wait and see though.
