Balloon Boy’s Parents Are Heading To The Slammer!

Happy early Christmas, everybody!

It’s the best news we’ve heard all week—Balloon Boy father Richard Heene, 48, and his 45-year-old wife Mayumi have been sentenced to time in prison!

Richard will head to jail on January 11 for 90 days, 60 of which will be spent on work release. Mayumi was sentenced to 20 days in prison, to be completed after Richard so she can take care of the children. The couple was also handed four years of supervised probation and are banned from receiving any form of financial benefit from the case.

Richard must serve 100 hours of community service and write a letter of apology to the community and public service agencies which helped search for his son. In addition, the couple has been ordered to fork over $42,000 for the emergency services’ rescue efforts during that October day.

During today’s hearing, Heene said “I’m very, very sorry, and I want to apologize to all the rescue workers out there and the people who got involved in the community. That’s it.”

Thank you, and please stay out of our lives forever!
