Taylor Lautner Is Starting to Stretch Himself a Little Thin
After famously beefing up his physique to keep the role of werewolf Jacob Black in The Twilight Saga, Taylor Lautner will be getting a lot thinner in his next big movie.
The New Moon beefcake has signed on to play Stretch Armstrong in an upcoming movie about the classic Hasbro toy that, well, stretched, and then snapped back into shape. Sounds like T-Laut will really be showing his flexibility as an actor for this thing.
Perhaps even more exciting, the film, which will be released by Universal sometime in 2012, will be filmed in suddenly-popular-again 3-D technology. Shades of Sharkboy?
In a statement about the deal, Universal Pictures co-chair Donna Langley gushed,
"In the past two years, Taylor has emerged as a real star at the global box office. He brings the perfect balance of energy and athleticism to the role of an unlikely super hero with a fantastic super power. We couldn't be more pleased that he has agreed to be our Stretch."
We're betting she's not the only one who's pleased—though we're still waiting to hear what Alex Meraz has to say about the project.

Well, if the movie isnt released until 2012, and the last Twilight Saga movie will probably be released at the end of this year, he can thin down after Breaking Dawn is released. Yeah?

Eh, it wouldn't surprise me if he loses some muscle for the role. Plenty of serious actors gain and lose weight dramatically and quickly. My only concern is the fact that he actually accepted the part of Stretch Armstrong. I seriously can't imagine being an actress and signing up to do something I KNEW would be absolute rubbish. I know it's money, but come on... he's got the Twilight saga in the bag; now why not try and get a decent role for once?
