Jennifer Lopez Splits From Record Label, Leaving Her Next Musical Masterpiece Temporarily Homeless
Apparently, there's a lot of Love? lost between Jennifer Lopez and her now-former record label.
The "Jenny From the Block" singer has parted ways with Sony's Epic Records, leaving Lopez's seventh studio album, the quizzically titled Love?, in limbo. (We're still trying to decide if that's a cause for sadness or celebration.)
In a statement released on Monday, Lopez's manager, Benny Medina, announced,
"Jennifer had a wonderful relationship with the Sony Music Group, and they have shared many successes together, but the time was right to make a change that best serves the direction of her career as an actress and recording artist. She is grateful and appreciative to everyone at Sony for all that they accomplished together."
Love? was due to be released in April, but obviously that's likely to change—which is kind of a moot point, since the album hasn't yet been completed.
Sounds like J.Lo's had a fall from grace. Which she seems to be experiencing a lot of lately.
