Katy Perry Might Play Smurfette In a Live Action Movie, Because Of Course

Katy Perry is about to get blue in the face, y’all. According to Variety, the “I Kissed a Girl” singer is close to signing on to play Smurfette in the upcoming live action/animated big-screen version of beloved 80s cartoon The Smurfs. Should Perry sign on for the flick—and if God truly loves us, it will be so—the songbird will join Neil Patrick Harris, along with George Lopez, who’s on board to play Grouchy Smurf, X-Men United actor Alan Cumming as Gutsy Smurf and Jonathan Winters (still alive!) as Papa Smurf.

Is it too much to hope that the studio will sign on Perry’s fiancé Russell Brand as Shaggy Smurf?

Will Katy Perry as Smurfette be hot, or super-hot? And if not Katy, who should inherit the coveted Smurfette role? Share your opinions in the comments section.
