Stephenie Meyer Will Drain Every Drop of Blood From the Vampire Thing With ”Twilight’ Novella
Rejoice, Twi-hards; Breaking Dawn may be the final installment of the Twilight saga, but Stephenie Meyer is sucking a little more mileage out of the story. The authoress behind the hugely successful vampire series will be publishing a novella, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, on June 5, which will chronicle the story of a newborn vamp in Eclipse. (Tanner is played by Jodelle Ferland in the movie adaptation, which hits the big screen on June 30).
According to Meyer, the novella was originally going to be included in The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide, but was cut due to space limitations. And no, this isn’t some cash-in scheme; One dollar from every book sold in the U.S. will go to the American Red Cross International Response Fund to support disaster relief efforts in Haiti and Chile.
Vampires, providing blood for others? We think there’s a word for that…
