Tired of Her Life Being a Circus, Mariah Carey Wants to Turn Her Existence Into a Musical Now
Well, now that her musical career is on the decline (at least according to certain pop tastemakers), we suppose this is a sensible move for Mariah Carey. Or at least as sensible a move as she’s capable of making.
The porpoise-voiced “We Belong Together” chanteuse is reportedly angling to turn her life story into a stage musical, giving her mental breakdowns and bewildering, champagne-fueled acceptance speeches the show-tune treatment they deserve. And Mimi’s ideal choice to play her in the musical? “I Got You” chanteuse Leona Lewis. According to a source,
“Mariah secretly likes the idea of Leona Lewis playing her. Not only is she exotic, she’s the only one who they reckon would be able to tackle Mariah’s eight-octave vocal range.”
Why not Nick Cannon in drag? Nobody knows her like he does, and the steady emasculation he’s experienced since marrying Mariah would probably enable him to hit the upper registers.
