M.I.A. Hates Lady GaGa, Twilight And Everything Else Important In This World
M.I.A. must be feeling masochistic because she is about to feel the pain of millions of teenage girls calling for her head on a stick.
The opinionated musician gave an interview to NME magazine where she slammed both Lady GaGa and the Twilight films. Does this woman know how crazy the GaGa monsters and Twi-hards can get when they are provoked?
On GaGa:
None of her music’s reflective of how weird she wants to be or thinks she is. She models herself on Grace Jones and Madonna, but the music sounds like 20-year-old Ibiza music, you know? She’s not progressive, but she’s a good mimic.
M.I.A. goes on to essentially call the self-procliamed artist GaGa a puppet of the mainstream music industry which uses her to make themselves feel important and leading-edge when it comes to creativity.
Now that M.I.A. has pissed off the gays and the teen girls, what does she have to say that could set off the Twi-hards?
NME: Would you ever make a record for a Twilight soundtrack?
M.I.A.: They asked me. Luckily Jimmy [Iovine, chairmen of M.I.A.’s US label Interscope] had beef with the Twilight people, so he stepped in and told them to fuck off.
One question: Why does M.I.A. hate everything that is so wonderful in the world?

She speaks the truth. lady gaga makes catchy fun music but it really isn't anything revolutionary and she is not as important as she thinks she is. First of all, A LOT of people know who MIA is. Second, there is truth to her statements. Gaga may be an interesting character, but musically, she's not THAT original. Her persona and public interaction with fans and media are what make her different.That's what M.I.A.'s saying-- her music isn't progressive.
