Deadliest Catch's Jake Harris Becomes Police's Prey After Bailing on Hearing
This hasn't been an easy year for Deadliest Catch star Jake Harris. First his father, DC's "Captain" Phil Harris, died of an aneurysm after suffering a stroke at the age of 53 in February. A week later, a grieving younger Harris was arrested on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run charges.
And now Harris has apparently become a fugitive from the law, after failing to appear at a preliminary hearing in his DUI case.
A Seattle judge has issued a warrant for the 24-year-old Harris, following his no-show for the hearing on Wednesday morning. According to prosecutor's spokesman Dan Donohoe,
"He failed to appear, and he court issued a bench warrant with a $500 bail."
Harris' whereabouts are unknown, and his rep could not be reached for comment. Currently he's facing charges of reckless driving and driving with a suspended license, after prosecutors dropped the DUI and hit-and-run charges due to lack of evidence.
Maybe he's busy offering Heather Locklear advice after her arrest this weekend?
