Katie Holmes, the First Lady of Celebrity Moms, is about to take her rightful place in the White House.

Holmes has signed on to play former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in the upcoming History Channel miniseries The Kennedys, scheduled to run next year.

Sadly, Holmes' husband, Tom Cruise, has not been tapped to play JFK in the project, as entertaining as it would be to see him jump up and down on the Oval Office couch. No, the ill-fated 35th President of the United States will be portrayed by Greg Kinnear, who's currently on the big screen in the Miley Cyrus vehicle The Last Song. (We'll leave it up to you to decide if this will be a step up or a step down.)

The miniseries will explore the oft-tumultuous relationship between various members of the Kennedy Family, with Saving Private Ryan's Barry Pepper playing the President's brother Bobby Kennedy and John Adams' Tom Wilkinson portraying their father, Joseph Kennedy Sr.

Why do we even need a movie about Jackie O? Will they talk about her womanizing husband and how she sat smiled and took it? She was the definition of a weak woman. I don't understand why so many admire her. What's to admire? Maybe you all know more than I.

It won't be watched at my house. We see NOTHING with a Scientology connection. Run for your life, Katie!!
