In case you haven't heard, Christina Aguilera's new video for "Not Myself Tonight" was released today and aside from making us want to go take a shower to scrub off this dirty feeling, the video made us wonder if she intended for the video to have so many references to Lady Gaga "Bad Romance" video.
Christina has caught flack before for allegedly copying Lady Gaga's style, but we never thought the similarities between the two would become so obvious. Christina wasn't always so blatantly derivative--are the similarities simply unintentional mistakes?

I have to agree it seems like Christina is copying Lady GaGa which is sad. Christina is the veteran performer with much more experience and talent and she should be leading the way out of over relying on over-sexualized and disturbing image to shock to get your attention. I am very disappointed in her. The bondage images are "new", but they are also sick and degrading to women and her dressing in them for this video is not condoning violence to women, it is promoting it She is almost 30 and could show the world that you can still be Mom, almost 30 and be sexy without being trashy and bring the focus back to where it should be - her immense talent and voice. I was so put off my the images in the video and distracted by them I really couldn't tell you if the song was any good - only recall just enough that when I hear it on the radio I will switch channels as it will just bring back the sick images in the video.

Honestly, this only proves that Gaga in some ways copies Christina. You might be saying "huh?" Well, I'll explain, see that photo of Christina wearing a white dress while sporting huge frizzy hair, and pale kind of geisha meets goth makeup? Well, she's had a very similar look either on stage, out in public, or in other videos for a long time. One example would be the video for Lady Marmalade, where she's taking every part of her look to the extreme. Both have tried their hand at the Marilyn Monroe look, as well. And, to be honest, I don't find Lady Gaga physically attractive at all, while Christina has looked pretty good in some of her videos.

There are similarities but it is true some parts are copied but I prefer Lady Gaga to Christina like I prefered Britany to Christina when they first came onto the music scene!
