Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift and Dakota Fanning Face Off in Epic Casting Battle!
This could get tense, people. Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift and Dakota Fanning are reportedly being pitted against each other in a casting battle for the lead role in the upcoming film The Seven Rays, based on the novel by Jessica Bendinger.
Bendinger, who also wrote the screenplay for Bring It On, has stated that she either of the three actresses starring in the movie, which will follow teenager Beth Michaels as she uncovers secrets of the supernatural after discovering that the woman she thought was her mother actually isn't.
Should Bendinger's casting wishes come down to an actual face-off, things could get unpleasant. Would the competition bring an end to the double-dating for recent besties Swift and Gomez? And whose experience with supernatural roles would carry more weight: Wizards of Waverly Place star Gomez's, or New Moon actress Fanning's?
We certainly wouldn't want to get in the middle of this sure-to-be-heated triangle—but don't let that stop you! Who do you think would be best in the role? Share your thoughts in the comments section!
I pick Dakota Fanning. First of all I read some of your comments that say you pick Selena because shes beautiful. I have to agree with you all the way that she is beautiful. But its not about beauty, Its about who has good acting skills. And Im not a selena hater. Honestly I love her shes great at what she does but im gonna have to go with Dakota on this one. I love Taylor Swift but from what I heard about her from valentines day, I would have to say No. I love her singing a lot though, She has a beautiful voice as well as Selena Does. And you people who say Dakotas Ugly, Shes not. She is a gorgeous young actor and she deserves this role. She is so Awesome. So please pick Dakota!!
Dakota Fanning should definitely get the role. She's an amazing actress, and she's extremely talented. She's had lots of experience and can definitely play ANY role out there. Selena started out as an "actress" on Disney Channel, but she's honestly just more of a singer now. I don't like her very much, and I don't think she's a good actress. Taylor's music is great. I think she should stick to minor acting roles, and concentrate on her music. It's what she does best. So, overall, Dakota should definitely, no question, get the role. She's amazing! I love her(:
Dakota is one of the best young actress ever. She should get the role. Taylor is only good at singing. Selena's good at acting but not dakota's a pro at acting. I love her. :D

Seems like a stupid battle to me. What I think of the three: SELENA GOMEZ: I seen her in Ramona and Beezus. And her acting, pretty good. The movie was relatable to the book and Joey King was a good match with Selena Gomez. I think she has a shot at this because she has been in previous movies based on a book. DAKOTA FANNING: I wouldn't say bad or a good actress. She's only an ok actress. Big movies doesn't always make an actor/actress seem like he/she can act really good. I can say she acted AMAZING in I Am Sam. Dakota Fanning acted HORRIBLE in War of the Worlds, THE RUNAWAYS, and Hide and Seek. All those movies I've seen and it wasn't that great. Taylor Swift: This role is a big one and yes she is on Valentine's Day. Though she doesn't have a big role on it. But Taylor does have to stick to mostly just MUSIC. I say she can only do minor movie parts like in Valentine's Day. THE RESULTS: As long as the movie is good and it's not Taylor Swift. I'm ok with Selena and Dakota, but just end this stupid battle.

The three are totally different Taylor is tall and can not act, Dakota is the most experienced, and Selena looks nothing like the other two she is not blond. So I don't know what they are looking for in the lead but I would go with Selena she is talented and not well know. Dakota would be my second choice.

Ok, Saoirse Ronan was ALSO MENTIONED!!! I'd choose her. She has a lot of awards recognition and is often talked about as the best young actress of the generation. But I also like Dakota, who would be good for the role. If not Saoirse, then Dakota for sure. I hope they choose someone who can ACT!

How do all of them fit the same character? Selena's is 17 and Mexican/Italian, Dakota is 16 fair skined and blues eyes. and Taylor is 6ft tall and 20 yrs old! I've never read the novel, so I can't tell who fits the description best. I would love for the role to go to Selena so people can take her seriosly as an actress becuase she is very talented. But if the character isn't a petite Hispanic brunete, than the role should go to Dakota. I love Taylor, but her acting skills aren't amazing. I wish all 3 the best!!!!!!

Selena Gomez is a fantastic actress. Yes, a vast majority of Disney Channel stars couldn't act to save their lives, but she's an exception. She has great timing, delivery, and sincerity. I don't know much about this role, but I don't think she should be easily passed up for bigger roles just because people want to brush her off as a "Disney Channel actress".
