Lynn Redgrave Passes Away at 67

Actress Lynn Redgrave, who was nominated for Oscars for her work in 1966’s Georgy Girl and 1998’s Gods and Monsters, passed away at her Connecticut home on Sunday, her family confirms. Redgrave, who had been battling breast cancer since 2003, was 67.

A statement released by Redgrave’s children, Benjamin, Kelly, and Annabel Lucy, reads,

“Our beloved mother Lynn Rachel passed away peacefully after a seven year journey with breast cancer. She lived, loved and worked harder than ever before. The endless memories she created as a mother, grandmother, writer, actor and friend will sustain us for the rest of our lives. Our entire family asks for privacy through this difficult time.”

Redgrave’s last screen performance was on an episode of Ugly Betty, as an eccentric designer, last year. Her brother, actor Corin Redgrave, passed away from cancer last month, while her niece, Natasha Richardson, died following a tragic skiing accident in March 2009.

In addition to her children, Redgrave is survived by her sister, fellow acclaimed actress  Vanessa Redgrave
