Taylor Swift Donates $500k To Nashville, Continues To Be Incredibly Awesome
Is it any wonder why we love Taylor Swift? The young pop sensation has donated $500,000 of her own money to help with flood relief in Nashville. The announcement of her massive donation was made during last night’s “Flood Relief Vince Gill and Friends” telethon on WSMV in Nashville.
Although Taylor is originally from Pennsylvania, she moved to Nashville when she was 14-years-old and credits the city with being instrumental in launching her career.
Swift told the Associated Press about her connection to Nashville and her anguish over the damaging flood:
Being at home during the storm, I honestly could not believe what was happening to the city and the people I love so dearly […] Nashville is my home, and the reason why I get to do what I love. I have always been proud to be a Nashvillian, but especially now, seeing the love that runs through this city when there are people in crisis.
Taylor isn’t the only Nashville star getting in on the relief efforts: country singers like Keith Urban and Brad Paisley are participating in telethons to urge people to donate.
