Tom Cruise Teaches Us How To Be Men In 'Esquire'
Tom Cruise recently graced the cover of Esquire's "How To Be A Man" issue (apparently, some men need instructions) and dished out his own man-tactics by opening up about his marriage with Katie Holmes.
Tom talked about how his marriage works because they both ditched their cynical attitudes about life and love. From Esquire (via Dlisted):
It's easy to be cynical. Making the choice not to be cynical is important. You can keep dwelling on what didn't work, or you can figure out how to fix it. Which is what being a parent is all about. You know, I'm married to such a special woman. Every night before we go to sleep, Kate and I look at each other and it's like, How'd we do today?
Well, judging by how adorable their daughter Suri turned out, we think they did OK!
But not everything is roses and adorable moppets in the House of Cruise: Tom talks about the controversial star to his and Katie's relationship when he made people think he was cuckoo by jumping on a couch on Oprah:
What happened, happened... I wanted the audience to be happy just like I wanted to make my sisters and my mother happy when I did those skits as a kid. But I'll take responsibility for my actions... Afterward, wild things were being said about me, and once they're in the ether, there's nothing you can do about it. It felt like being the new kid in the schoolyard again and the other kids are whispering and whispering about you and suddenly you hear what they're saying, and you think, What? That didn't happen. Look at the reality of the situation.
Poor Tom, we bet he never had to feel like the unpopular kid growing up. Luckily he could go crying about being uncool in his piles and piles of money with his leggy, beautiful wife.
So, uh, did any of that teach you dudes how to "be a man?" We hope so, because it hurts our small female brains to think about it.
