Adam Lambert Didn't Bail on 'Idol' Performance; He Wasn't Invited. So There!
Shock waves rippled across the Internet on Wednesday when reports surfaced that American Idol fave Adam Lambert had abandoned a scheduled performance on last night's season finale. "How could this be?" Glambo Nation collectively wondered. "He's always been the consummate professional!"
Well, as it turns out, reports of the "For Your Entertainment" singer's diva-tude have been greatly exaggerated.
Lambert took to his Twitter account early today to set the record straight on the finale brouhaha. As he explains, there's no way he could have canceled the performance at the last minute—because he was never invited to perform in the first place. There; that'll show 'em!
As Lambert notes,
"All i ever heard was: 'you've not been asked to perform on finale.Would you like to sit in the audience?' Me:sorry-Too much work to do today...Sick of certain journalists and jealous people in the industry trying to stir up bullsh*t drama. Must not be getting laid. GET A LIFE! HAHA."
Yup, totally—joke's on everybody else, Adam.
Lambert goes on to say that he is currently preparing to embark on his upcoming tour and, thus, had no time to keep a seat warm on the Idol finale. The theme of Lambert's road jaunt?
"love, diversity, peace, bravery & pride.Oh n' GLAM."
We bet there won't be an empty seat in the house.
