'New World' Actress Q'orianka Kilcher Arrested At White House-photo

New World actress Q'orianka Kilcher was arrested along with her mother at the White House on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old Q'orianka, who most recently starred in Princess Kaiulani, had reportedly chained herself to a fence while her mother, Saskia Kilcher, poured "a black substance" all over her. The two were allegedly protesting a visit from Alan Garcia

Q'orianka's agent reports that his client is a "strong supporter of indigenous populations around the world." It isn't immediately clear why she was protesting Garcia but Q'orianka's father is a Peruvian Indian.

Both the actress and her mother were charged with disorderly conduct while her mother was charged with defacing government property. They are due at court in Washington, D.C. on June 9.

This isn't the first time Q'orianka grabbed attention for her activism, she visited Peru last week to support Alberto Pizango, an indigenous leader. She has also attended political rallies for climate change in the past.
