Rihanna Comes Clean About Chris Brown To 'Elle' (PHOTOS)
You may recall that Chris was convicted of felony assault in 2009 after he beat up then-girlfriend Rihanna during an argument in his car. While Rihanna has continued to find success in her career, Chris has struggled to get back on his feet. The "Forever" singer was recently banned from touring in the UK because of the felony assault conviction.
Although Chris has apologized for the incident, Rihanna has remained relatively mum about the whole ordeal. However, the "Rude Boy" chanteuse is now opening up about how she felt confused after Chris beat her up:
A year ago, I was very confused. Because he was my best friend. All of a sudden, one night changed our whole lives—not only our friendship, but our lives. I wanted to wake up one day and just not have that pain anymore. I wanted to be with him again or get over him—it was either-or. I just didn’t want to feel the pain, the confusion.
Being the victim of domestic violence can be a confusing and heart-wrenching experience but we are glad that Rihanna pulled herself together and eventually moved on from Chris to new beau Mike Kemp.
