Chace Crawford's marijuana-possession case has taken one step closer to resolution. Or perhaps incarceration.

Plano, Texas police—who busted the Gossip Girl heartthrob with an unlit joint in the parking lot of a local watering hole last week—have forwarded his case to the district attorney, who must now figure out how to proceed with the case—or not. According to a police spokesperson,

"The case has been referred to prosecutors, and they will determine whether they have enough evidence to pursue charges against him."

If they do decide to go forward with the case, possible punishments for Crawford range from probation and a small fine to six months in jail and a $2,000 fine. No word on how much time the prosecutors will seek against Crawford for being so criminally attractive.

What do you think is an appropriate punishment for Crawford's crime—if, indeed, it deserves any punishment at all? Let us know in the comments section.

nothing should happen, it was unlit, it was a tiny amount for his own use, texas is tough but in no way should he have a custodial sentence, small fine and a warning as i am sure we recognise that however harsh all this is , it is illegal and chace growing up in texas knows the score,he is a great guy and i think and hope there will be a sensible outcome
