Advertisers Dump Perez Hilton Over Miley Cyrus Upskirt Scandal

It looks like Perez Hilton is finding out the hard way that people don’t take too kindly to a gossip blogger posting fake upskirt photos of teen stars that could potentially be considered child pornography.

Fox News (via LimeLife) is reporting that advertising are leaving Perez in droves after he posted a photoshopped explicit upskirt photo of Disney star Miley Cyrus. ABC–which is owned by Disney–has pulled ads for its shows from Perez’s site, including ads for The View.

Meanwhile, Fox reports that MTV-owned TV Land has pulled ads from the controversial blogger’s site, although MTV denies this and TV Land ads were still on Perez’s site at the time of this post.

Will other advertisers follow suit? It is hard to say, but if Miley fans continue to put pressure on Perez’s advertisers they might pull their ads.

For her part, the 17-year-old “Can’t Be Tamed” singer responded to Perez’s behavior by saying it was an example of “an idiot being an idiot.” Perez has defended himself by saying that it is find if Miley starts acting a little sexier because she is “almost 18.”

While legal experts have said that Perez could face child pornography charges for posting the picture on Twitter, there has been no news of any charges.
