M.I.A. Ditches Wedding Dress For A Suit
Pop sensation M.I.A. is known for thinking outside of the box and her wedding day plans are no exception.
In an interview with GQ magazine, the controversial songstress says that she wants to eschew the traditional white wedding dress for her big day:
I’ve always wanted to get married in a white suit. I used to work at a Kodak lab in England, cutting photos after they’d come out of the wash, and in one I saw this couple getting married on a beach in white suits, and their kid was there.
That sure is different but it is also kind of sweet that she was inspired by a photo she saw many years ago.
The "Paper Planes" singer was most recently in the news for a controversial interview she did with the New York Times Magazine. After the journalist interviewing her painted M.I.A. in an unflattering light for ordering truffle french fries while pretending to have street cred, the 34-year-old singer responded by posting the interviewer's phone number on Twitter.
Once she had ruined the interviewer's privacy, M.I.A. posted tapes that showed that the interviewer blatantly lied about key points in the interview. So, naturally, the pressure is on for anyone who dares to interview the contentious pop star these days.
Later in the interview, M.I.A. talks about growing up without a father in the slums of London:
England gave me a free education but my grades suffered because I didn’t have my dad to help me. I’ve paid the price. I’ve had the cause and effect, all that s**t. I feel like I don’t have anything to do with my dad.
So we assume that he won't be invited the white suit wedding?
