Why Angelina Jolie Is No Longer A Wild Woman
There was a time when Angelina Jolie was considered one of the wildest actresses in Hollywood. She had tattoos, was openly bisexual, talked about doing the nasty, and she allegedly wore vials of blood around her neck. However, the days of wild Angelina are no more and the 35-year-old actress is the first to admit that she has changed and become more of a homebody.
In an interview with Parade magazine, Angelina opens up about her wild past and why she thinks that she used to do such outrageous stunts when she was a young actress:
I used to cut myself or jump out of airplanes, trying to find something new to push up against because sometimes everything else felt too easy. I was searching for something deeper, something more. I tried everything. I always felt caged, closed in, like I was punching at things that weren’t there. I always had too much energy for the room I was in.
I went through a period when I felt my film characters were having more fun than I was. It might partly explain why I ended up tattooed or doing certain extreme things in my life. [Points to tattoo] ‘T’he wild heart caged.’ I unlocked my cage years ago. I want my children to have that freedom. I want that for other people, too.
As for her life with Brad and her ever-expanding brood, Angelina says that she and her family don’t discuss the tabloid gossip so the kids are (for now) unaware of that side of Angie and Brad’s life.
The Salt star also admits that she and Brad are two “homebodies” and they are “very much Mommy and Daddy in our pajamas” when they are home.
Maybe it is easier to Angie to raise her kids since she herself was the daughter of a famous actor, John Voigt. Either way, it sounds like Angelina has considerably cooled from her wild past.
