'Breaking Dawn' Will Most Likely Include Birth Scene

'Breaking Dawn' Will Most Likely Include Birth Scene-photo

Fear not, Twi-hards; when Breaking Dawn hits the big screen, it will probably include the most infamous scene from the book it was based on.

Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg caused ripples of anxiety throughout Twi-hard nation recently, when she suggested that she might leave Breaking Dawn's notoriously gory birth out of the script. Luckily, Rosenberg has now clarified her stance on the matter, stating that she believes the birth scene should be included, although perhaps in not such a graphic manner:

"The childbirth… should be on screen. I think perhaps what I was referring to was, would we actually see Edward’s teeth through the placenta? I don’t think so. I don’t think we need to see that, and if someone needs to see that, I think they should take a look at that [laughs]. I believe it will be implied, but I don’t think we’ll see teeth in the placenta.”

Well, there goes the crucial teeth-in-the-placenta moviegoer demographic. But something tells us that Breaking Dawn will do just fine at the box office with or without them.

Are you relieved at Rosenberg's clarification, or do you wish they'd go full gore with the birth scene? Share your thoughts in the comments section.

NO need for the teeth stuff

First of all the so called "sex" scenes in the book are all implied. They don't describe anything. The only thing they describe is everything afterwards. I don't see how they can't put this in a movie. People are acting like there are graphic sex scenes in it and there are not. It's more "behind closed doors" then the feathers and bella trying to figure out what happened when she's covered in feathers, but there are no graphic explanations. The birth scene in the book however is a different story. Now that is graphic, but they can do it in a way where the point gets across without having to show the gore. Although gore would probably make more men want to see it. LOL

You people are pathetic! The sex secene and the birth scene are part of the book and should be in the movie(s). If it is in the book (that millions of young people read) then it needs to be in the movie as far as I am concerned. Don't go to see it if the book grossed you out... wimps.

I agree with the ppl who say "Parents let them read it so seeing inst bad" I think it would so stupid if they edit out the sex and birth! If they do thats the freackin movie gone! If they're old enuf to read about sex and birth they shud b old enuf to see it! God an if u dont like twilight why do u waste ur time looking it up or reading about it? Oh and Team Edward:)

Only people who are older teens and adults should read the book and see the movie...It should be rated R for sex and violence because thats what made the fourth book so damn good! If you cant handle those things maturely then perhaps you should not see the 4th movie...and for the rest of us, we will enjoy what was originally written!

oh boy i cant wait for breaking dawn - that sh*t is so f*cked up it will be the epicness on the tube YOU GUYS BETTER GO FULL WAY AND INCLUDE EVERY DAMN THING werewolves falling in love with babies that vampires delivered with c-sections themselves THIS IS WHAT TV WAS CREATED FOR

They HAVE to include the "special scenes." If they don't, it won't have that effect. Also, it never really said that they had sex in the book. Stephanie Meyer left it to our imaginations.

The cast will probably look at the script and be like, "Whoa! That's nasty." Imagine that though? Like, all of them sitting around a giant table doing a read through then BAM!! They read Bella giving birth and all the goryness. Just like imagine their faces at that moment....

I agree with you! i want the birth and the sex scene. it wouldnt be right with out them. I agree with both of you these books were never meant for children to read as far as I'm concerned if you aren't old enough to watch a rated R movie, you aren't mature enough to handle the intense romance between Edward and Bella and shouldn't be reading the books anyway.I'm just going to be angry if they ruin possible the best book of the series' movie so that the little kiddies will be able to watch.

Dont need to see that part! A lot of young kids go see twilight movies.. and either they should increase the rating of the movie or leave out the birth and sex scene.. either way make it appropriate for kids or increase rating Exactly...make it an R rating. Just as the Harry Potter movies got darker and darker, these movies should grow with the characters. Yes..that means sex and then a birth scene.

quote=Mic]Honestly, Twilight is so stupid and this whole thing of "Maybe I won't write this into the movie..." is retarded. Just go write, and let people complain once the movie is out. retarded is not a very nice word. i wrote a published story on it.

I think that they should keep as real to the book as they can thats what made people like the whole twilight series... I love the whole story and movies .. the climate that the birth has in breaking dawn is needed for the whole transformation of her into a vampire .I SAY STICK WITH IT or at least as much that is possible

i think, if you want to give the book justice....you should inclue as much of everything in the movie as possible!! x-rated or not! it's the last of the movies [books] so give it the book the justice it deserves! [the first one didn't]

the scene should be in the movie because i read it and i did not find it gross. just dont put as much detail in it and it will be completely fine. the honeymoon and the birth scene and everyother part of the book should be included in the movie. all these older kids shouldnt ruin it for us younger kids who are completely inlove with the whole twilight saga. if you want it to be rated "R" just so the younger kids can't watch it, then go make your own version of the movie and let everybody else enjoy the movie just like it is in the book.

The sex and birth needs to be in the movie as it was in the book. Breaking Dawn was the only book of the 4 that I did not let my young read. I think they need to include it and raise the rating to an "R" rating. Then parents can use their discretion about whether or not to let their child(ren) view the movie.

It is ridiculous for her to even consider leaving out the birth scene or the sex scene. They should have hired a screenwriter who can her her flipping job! If I were Stephanie Meyer, I'd be p'd off that this screenwriter is ruining her legacy. The birthing scene is the most important scene in the series! Bella finnnally gets turned into a vampire. If they leave that out just so a bunch of 10 year olds can see the movie, then they should be ashamed of themselves. 10 year old kids shouldn't be watching/reading the series, anyways.. It's teaching them that it's normal for your significant other to be overbearing, clingy and protective.

I used to be a big twilight fan, but the actors and writers have done NO justice for the books. I don't understand why they had a different writer and director for almost every movie... its stupid. They should show everything that was in the book. If people were letting their kids read about it, then it should be in the movies. If you don't like it.. don't let you kids watch it. IT WAS IN THE BOOKS YOU LET THEM READ!

This movie should be made as an "R". Sorry, tweens, it ain't for you! i agree they shoud show everything because it all has to do with the book people they do it a couple times and the movie peoples job is to make it come to life..and the baby scene is also a vital part of the movie y cut it out its about time they started gettin down and dirty with it sorry kids you may need parental supervision for this one they need to end with a big bang!!!

Its twilight. All the other movies had pretty much led to all this and he has to be in the movie. If u could read the book then u can see the movie. Because the book has specific details about the birth. Stop being such babies. The sex scene is probably not gonna be showing everything so calm down. I don't really want anything to change from the book because i feel everything has to be in the movie because it was all so important.

I think that the shots could be completely directed at their faces, rather than Bella's body. It would add into the emotion, and really make you connect to the characters. As for the sex, why not just follow them before and after? They can talk about it, and talk about doing it, but no nudity or anything. Call me old-fashioned.

If I want to watch kids shows I'd watch Saturday Disney. Summit needs to take this franchise up a notch for all of the fans over 18. Not of course take it to True Blood level but make it more interesting and not so Sunday school romance-ish. I'm looking forward to the scene when Bella and Edward finally have sex and wreck the house, Come on...we've waited all this time. And to see her as a vampire.

if you keep it like the book it won't be anything gross or graphic. in eclipse we see the abstinance she wants to he stops it and is the gentleman. In breaking dawn we know what goes on we get the general idea with out it being so detailed we don't need that we get it. she is scared it is her first time and it gets described tastefully in the book with out it being cheap nasty or raunchy. stephanie did a good job writing it lets hope they get it right in the movie.

I think Stephenie did it perfectly and if they keep that part of the movie EXACTLY like the book then there is no problems! as much as ppl want to see Rob and Kris get it on, it's not fitting to the storyline of Breaking Dawn which Isle Esme was written PERFECTLY dont' mess with perfect Melissa, you've already knaffed up enough of hte movies leave that part alone!

the screen writer has done a great job with the last three movies and I think she will find a out to fit either parts in to this movie and For the rating sack... I do not think Stephanie will let the movie rate higher then pg-13.... And personally I don't want to see all of Kristen.....

To Raaay : Yes there is alot of the younger crowd but I can say as far as a proud Twilight Mom, that the sex scene's should be left in hello thats the way the story goes without the sex there could be no pregnancy and then there wouldn't of been the book. It's more than that we have followed this story of Edward and Bella and there life, it's there life story and the Birth or Renesmee is very important just as in real life the birth of a baby is SPECIAL... Keep it in!!!

I think that the birth and sex scenes should be included but they dont need to make it completely x-rated. Sex is completely natural and so is birthing a baby...theres no reason why it shouldnt be in the movie...especially since it was in the book! If the younger audience can read it..what's so wrong with watching it?
