James Franco Goes Beat In New 'Howl' Trailer (VIDEO)
Do you like your American literary biopics laced with some serious male hotness? Well, you are in luck, because Howl, a new film that chronicles the life of poet Allen Ginsberg, has got not one but two dreamboats. It's like Twilight for people who are old enough to rent a car!
In a sure-to-be-career-defining role, James Franco stars as the Beat poet whose famous poem "Howl" broke down societal boundaries in the late '50s. The film follows the 1957 obscenity trial brought against Ginsberg's publishers.
Maybe James could bring some of his own literary experiences into his role: He most recently graduated from Columbia's renowned MFA program for creative writing and is rumored to be attending Yale for a PhD in literature. Handsome, artsy, and smart? No wonder everyone loves James.
As if James' hotness wasn't enough, Jon Hamm co-stars in the film as the lawyer for Ginsberg's publishers during the obscenity trial. That's right ladies (and gents): Two good-looking, talented men for the price of one.
The film, written and directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, will be released in select theaters on September 24.
