Did New 'Glee' Star Charice Get Botox At 18?

Did New 'Glee' Star Charice Get Botox At 18?-photo

Filipino teen sensation Charice Pempengco rose to fame on her undeniable talent but now it looks like she is already courting controversy.

The 18-year-old singer became a success when she sang on both Ellen DeGeneres' and Oprah Winfrey's talk shows. The young star recently landed a role on Glee which reportedly motivated her to get Botox and skin-lightening treatments so she can look "fresh" for the camera. Yikes!

Charice's plastic surgeon Vicki Belo talked openly about the procedures in a recent interview, saying the injections would make Charice's "naturally round face" look more narrow and "fresh on camera."

Charice's rep denies the story, telling Us Magazine the teen got the shots to alleviate pain from TMJ, not to make her face appear thinner.

guys, i am a proud filipino. it's not skin lightening but TIGHTENING..besides most stars here in Philippines do bleaching and that Botox thing. what's wrong with that anyway? good thing she was 18 when she had that. others here do that when they are still 16!!!!!! and another point, DR. BELO is a reputable doctor here. Trust me what Charice did for her face is worth it. :)

Well, in the Phillipines skin lightening is very common. Darker skin isn't considered beautiful (Ew, I know right?). But I don't believe it, becaus eher reps denied it. Soo.. I don't get why everyone is getting so riled up. I for one don't believe in cosmetic surgery of any kind, so I would be dissapointed if she went under the knife, because she's already so pretty. But all that matters is Charice is one of the most amazing singers to ever walk the planet, & she deserves the utmost respect for that. We love you, Cha! (:

[quote=Scarlet O' Hara] im half filo, ive been to philippines, TRUST ME it's natural they have shower soap, bleaches everything to make you '' lighter '' i just dont think you'll be able to grasp just how big of a deal it is to filipino's that are dark unless you are filipino, lol.. not that i agree with it, or charice with botox at 18, but it's what they do now to become more successful. sorry hun i ment '' i agree what your saying, suppose to be saying that to the girl who tried to question your comment ''

@lou Skin lightening is very common in the Philippines. My dad is Filipino so I've been there before and you can find bleaching creams everywhere. I met a vendor there and she told me that darker skin is not considered beautiful. She said that skin bleaching is not big deal because everyone does it. People earn a lot of money over there for making and selling their own bleaching creams. im half filo, ive been to philippines, TRUST ME it's natural they have shower soap, bleaches everything to make you '' lighter '' i just dont think you'll be able to grasp just how big of a deal it is to filipino's that are dark unless you are filipino, lol.. not that i agree with it, or charice with botox at 18, but it's what they do now to become more successful.

Wow! Now they put Charice here in Celebuzz! Now that there is something negative to say? But when Charice was hitting those high notes and made Oprah cry because of her amazing voice they didn't even put that news here. Leave her alone! It's not like she have nude picture or something.

@ashlee Who cares how common it is? The practice of skin lightening is awful. If those people were proud of their race, they wouldn't be doing all of these things to hide it. People also make a lot of money by selling drugs. -_- They do this to look like white people. I'm a white person myself, but I think it's very sad. You're you...Not me. Look like yourself. Don't be getting plastic surgery to look more like some other random girl with a more slim face and narrow nose! I agree with you but you have to understand the racial stuff that people who are not white that have to go through. It's nice to think that people can be accepting but they're not. people don't want to feel inferior but society prevents an individual from being themselves. it's kinda sad but that's life. So, I sympathize with her but its wrong to do this at such a young age.
