Selena Gomez Cancels Concerts Due to Injury
Selena Gomez would apologize to fans for canceling her shows, that is if she was able to talk right now.
As anyone who watched Lopez Tonight last night knows, the Wizards of Waverly Place star is currently suffering from strained vocal cords, and the injury has forced her to cancel concerts at several dates in Delaware and Ohio. Gomez, who turned 18 last week and is currently preparing for the release of her sophomore album, tentatively titled A Year Without Rain, was scheduled to perform at the Delaware State Fair on Wednesday and the Celeste Center in Columbus, Ohio on Thursday, but the singer issued a statement announcing that she has regrettably had to scratch the concerts. “I am extremely disappointed to cancel these shows,” Gomez said. “My fans mean the world to me and I was so excited to perform for them.”
While Delaware State Fair officials have booked Disney pop-rock act All-Star Weekend to replace Gomez, the Columbus date has been rescheduled for November. Gomez is next scheduled to play at New York City's PNC Bank Arts Center on Saturday.
