You just spoke my mind. I like Demi and Miley best, as I can relate to them, they make mistakes, just like us normal teenagers. But when I look at Selena, I see a cute girl but it’s like she’s flawless, no mistakes, nothing, so I would kind of prefer someone I can honestly relate to, even Miley’s songs, which yes, SHE wrote.

i know that as a teenager, i look up to selena as a role model. i don’t look up to people like miley cyrus, because the image they are projecting, i choose not to be like them. i think selena is hopefully too mature to listen to what these critics have to say

Exactly !!

My daughters are 8 and 4, and they love Selena Gomez, and honestly, in a world of slutty teenaged ‘role models’, it’s refreshing to have one that is comparatively NORMAL – i.e. what those of us in mainstream America can, you know, RELATE to, and one that our own children can, you know, LOOK UP TO. Wow – what a revelation.

Leave the kid alone. She’s very pretty, and she’s talented, and it’s nice that she’s not a whore, and that she doesn’t aspire to be one in order to sell her self out. (or, I would assume – in order for her parents to, uh, pimp her out.)

Who says that someone who can barely drive and vote needs to ‘sex’ anything up? The girl obviously has some self-respect, and that’s refreshing. Hopefully she’ll stay true to herself.

They just can’t win, no matter what they do BECAUSE they come from Disney!! I like Miley & Selena. They are both very talented girls w/ a great future ahead of them.

As far as I can tell, Selena is already successful. If her career fizzles because she refuses to “sex it up” for ratings, she already basically has it made, if she is responsible with her earnings. If she loves what she does, she can continue doing it relatively successfully without having to change who she is.

She definitely DOES NOT need to be sexier. It would just make her another fake like Miley Cyrus and the likes.
She actually has talent and doesn’t have have to strutt around like a skank voicing idiotic oppinions nobody really cares about..

As much as I hate Disney and their starlets, I think it’s a GOOD thing she’s not walking around like a whore in her underwear and trying to be overtly sexy like Miley Cyrus and Taylor Momsen and every other desperate kid out there.

I don’t support her, because she’s a Disney product, but if I had to support any ‘new star’ out there, it would be her because she’s not acting like a little slut.

I love how most Selena stans are hooked thinking that Selena is gonna stay in her goody two shoes just because she’s not one of those celebs who get scandals made up on them 24/7. But how many Disney stars can u name that haven’t sexed up their image at some part of their career and lasted and the limelight? Hilary Duff? How many times do people have to keep reminding themselves who she is? Raven Symone? People think she walked off a cliff somewhere and had a baby. The only Disney star that ever made it after Disney Hood and is a millionaire now is Shia Labeouf. Selena will be a no one in like 2 years from now

i personally think shes a tad boring & she CAN NOT SING! its all voice over recorded stuff. i took my lil sis to see her live and omg she sucked so bad my sister asked to leave, and shes 5! but yea she is a little boring and honestly i doubt if she gets any big movies that show her in a more challenging role.

I totally agree..She has no talent in the singing field, and she does cheesy movies. I think she’ll never grow out of Disney. She’ll probably be done with acting by age 25. This I’m soo perfect act isn’t going to keep people around for long!!

Thats a silly picture. i think she looks sexy plenty of times. Not like crazy sexy, but like a cute young girl sexy. She may chose bad roles, but thats another story all together. Besides, if she acted sexy, then they would just give her crap for being sexy. This is just an example of a reporter trying to get a bit of excitement for the readers.
