Joe Jonas Insists He Isn’t a Heartbreaker
Joe Jonas may have earned a bit of a reputation for being a heartbreaker, but the handsome teen idol insists that he isn’t the one doing the heartbreaking.
The 20-year-old Disney star has had relationships with a string of famous ladies including Camilla Belle, Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift, the latter of which announced to the world on Ellen that Joe had dumped her with a 27-second phone call. However, Joe insists that he isn’t the love-crushing playboy type in an interview with The Toronto Star:
I know there’s people out there who say I’ve been breaking hearts, but listen to our songs. They speak the truth. If hearts have been broken, they’re usually ours. What happens in our relationships winds up in our songs and haters will be haters.
This isn’t the first time that Joe has defended himself against claims by ex-girlfriends: Following his split from Taylor in 2008, the singer insisted that he wasn’t a cheater and that the relationship had issues:
I never cheated on a girlfriend. It might make someone feel better to assume or imply I have been unfaithful but it is simply not true. Maybe there were reasons for a breakup. Maybe the heart moved on. Perhaps feelings changed. I am truly saddened that anything would potentially cause [my fans] to think less of me.
Joe’s most recent relationship with former BFF Demi ended abruptly earlier this year. Following the split, Demi allegedly made a dig at Joe during a concert in South America, telling him to “go back to playing tambourine.” The two are planning on touring together for the Jonas Brothers and Camp Rock 2 summer tour in August.
In recent weeks, Joe has reportedly been spotted going out on dates with Twilight actress Ashley Greene.

I think he got this rep. for a number of good reasons. 1) He has dated ALOT of girls and 2) he has handled his breakups w/o ANY class whats so ever. Exhibit A he dates Taylor Swift then dumps her over a 20 some second phone call. Exhibit B he dumped Demi Lovato(get well soon good luck) and then brought his new girlfriend on tour. I am sorry but I don’t know him but i dislike him from just those two things. I goes to show he has no courage to stand up and take responsibility for his actions. Date who you want but when you break up with a girl for future refrence make sure you do it face to face and not over a 20 some second phone call. And be considerate of your exs feelings and keep the girlfriend at home, not around you ex. I am sorry that bothers me. You guys say what you want but he had a BIG role in Demi landing in rehab. His iggnorance landed her in rehab.
All of you guys got Joe wrong he’s not gay. And Joe isn’t a heartbreaker. He is a victim of the press. And Joe isn’t a jerk either. I hate the people who say that he’s gay and that he’s a heartbreaker and that he’s a jerk. The people who ay that he’s those things are haters. I hate haters of him and his brothers. Haters go away. I’m defending Joe because I love him.
