Will Ferrell & Lizzy Caplan Team Up For TV Show
Mean Girls‘ Lizzy Caplan and comedy powerhouse Will Ferrell are teaming up for a new HBO comedy series for ladies.
The duo, along with Funny or Die’s Gary Sanchez, are putting together a show based on the super-duper-amazingly-fun-times memoir, I Don’t Care About Your Band, by New York comedian Julie Klausner.
The book, which came out earlier this year, follows the author’s search for love from her childhood days through her 20s. Sure, it may sound similar to every female-oriented book out there, but it is actually refreshingly funny and sharp with (thankfully) few references to shoes and cupcakes.
Lizzy, who just wrapped up her role on the cult comedy hit (and Emmy-snubbed) Party Down, is expected to star in the series as well as produce. Aside from Mean Girls and Party Down, you may recognize Lizzy from her role True Blood.
Will Ferrell is appearing in the upcoming comedy cop flick, The Other Guys.
