Director Ditches Justin Bieber's 3D Film Debut

Oscar-winning director Davis Guggenheim has dropped out of the upcoming 3D Justin Bieber biopic.

The Inconvenient Truth director withdrew from the bound-to-be-blockbuster film on Tuesday night due to a scheduling conflict. Davis felt that he would be too busy promoting his newest film, Waiting for Superman, to devote his attention to Baby Biebs' magical movie.

In the movie, the 16-year-old "Baby" singer will be in the role he was born to play: Himself. The film is expected to use footage from Justin's current concert tour throughout the film, which might explain why Justin's people went after a documentary filmmaker.

The 3D Biebs pic is expected to be released during Valentine's Day weekend of 2011.

Think you could do a good job capturing the magic of Justin for the big screen? Paramount Pictures, the studio behind the film, is currently interviewing directors to take Davis' spot.

Do you think it was a bad career move for Davis to drop out of Justin's film? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
