Is Lady Gaga Writing a Gay Rights Anthem?

Lady Gaga might not find her own love life particularly inspirational (in fact she finds it downright detrimental to her creativity), but she thinks the right of others to marry the person of their choice is really something to sing about.

On Wednesday, a California judge struck down the state’s controversial Proposition 8, which banned gay marriage statewide when it was passed by voters in November 2008. Shortly thereafter, the “Poker Face” songbird—a strong advocate of gay rights who counts a substantial gay following among her audience—took to her Twitter account to announce that the decision has inspired her to pen some new material:

“At the moment’s notice of PROP 8 DEATH I instantly began to write music. BUBBLE DREAMS FOREVER! FULL EQUALITY! THIS IS JUST THE BEGININNG [sic]! REJOICE and CELEBRATE gay communities and straight all over the world. Our voices are being heard! Loud! SCREAM LOUD AMERICANOS!”

Who knows? If you scream loud enough, you might end up on the backing vocals.

So…are you eager to hear what musical masterpiece Gaga will mine from the judicial decision? Let us know in the comments section.
