Did Emma Watson Cut Her Hair For 'Tattoo' Role?

Did Emma Watson Cut Her Hair For 'Tattoo' Role?-photo

Harry Potter beauty Emma Watson may have chopped off her long locks for a chance to win the leading role in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

While Emma had explained that she cut off her hair because she "missed all that experimentation that most teenagers go through" she did mention that she cut off her hair once she "had the chance," and what better chance is there to get a pixie cut than the possibility of winning a coveted movie role?

A movie insider tells The Sun that the 20-year-old cut her hair for her audition:

Emma has auditioned with director David Fincher and cut her hair to look the part. The character of Lisbeth is a misfit goth-type girl with spikey hair.

Emma has some fierce competition for the role. Actresses Kristen Stewart and Carey Mulligan are reportedly fighting to play Lisbeth. Whether Emma's hair dedication will put her ahead of the pack is to be determined.

The role of Lisbeth will be spread accross three films to follow the crime book trilogy written by Stieg Larsson. Considering that the books have been insanely popular all over the world, the role of Lisabeth would likely catapult whoever the lead actress is into superstardom.

So far, only Daniel Craig has been publicly confirmed for the film.

Do you think Emma should get the role? Let us know what you think in the comments below, and check out the original trailer for the Swedish version of the movie, starring Noomi Rapace as Lisbeth.

I think Emma Watson would do wonderful in this role. Whether it's true or not. Kristen Stewert is SOOOO over rated. Just becasue she landed Twilight doesn't mean she should get every part out there. Emma is a MUCH better actress then Kristen.

the story is not true and Emma is focusing in school plus she does not have the Badass needed for this movie....she does well in Harry Potter but that's it....they will need a nobody to do this film a girl who screams BADASS!!

I'm mostly wondering why they would make another version of the film in the first place? What was wrong with the Swedish one? I suspect this has to do with the American fear of foreign languages. They slowly take over all foreign language films, and change them into American productions that have lost all originality.

The story is nonsense. It was sheer speculation invented by the British tabloid newspaper The Sun. Emma Watson's representative has today, Tuesday, announced that the story is "absolutely false on all accounts." Watson NEVER auditioned for the role. She is returning to Brown University for her sophomore year. * I read that too.* =/ hard to judge the article's authenticity.
