‘America’s Got Talent’ Judge Piers Morgan Says ‘No Thanks’ to Larry King Gig

The search for venerable talk show host Larry King’s on-air replacement is starting to grow as complicated as the drama over American Idol’s new judges’ panel.

Back in June, it was reported that America’s Got Talent judge Piers Morgan would most likely be stepping in for the retiring King on his 9 PM CNN talk program, but Morgan himself has now shot down the rumor himself, telling Hollywood Life that he doesn’t think he could handle the workload:

“That’s quite a big job to do. It’s the biggest news organization in the world. It’s highly unlikely that I’ll be taking over.”

King, it’s worth noting, is 76 years old, while Morgan is a relatively young 45—and, as he’s demonstrated before, in fairly good shape. Maybe he just couldn’t stand to be separated from fellow Talent judge Howie Mandel? That guy does seem like a lot of fun to hang out with.

Are you disappointed or relieved that Morgan won’t be taking King’s place? And who do you think would be a good fit for the job? Let us know in the comments section.
