Battle of the Vamps: ‘True Blood’ Creator Disses ‘Twilight’

Despite Robert Pattinson’s smoldering eyes and Taylor Lautner’s smoking abs, Twilight isn’t sexy enough for True Blood creator Alan Ball.

Ball disses the Twilight phenomenon in the steamy Rolling Stone cover story about his HBO drama, saying he simply can’t comprehend the idea of blood-suckers who are teenage — and celibate.

To me, vampires are sex… I don’t get a vampire story about abstinence. I’m 53. I don’t care about high school students. I find them irritating and uninformed.

True Blood viewers known Ball’s vampires are decidedly more adult than Edward and Bella, seldom abstaining from bedroom action.
