Exclusive: Kim Kardashian Talks 'Crazy' Season, New Romance
Kim Kardashian will let the cameras roll on her single life for the first time when Keeping Up With Kardashians returns to the E! airwaves on Sunday. Celebuzz caught up with Kim and Khloe Kardashian to talk about season-five with their lovably dramatic family, which has welcomed two new members -- Kourtney's son, Mason and Khloe's husband, Lamar Odom.
Kim dishes with Celebuzz below, answering our questions about penning a book with her sisters, her reported feud with Paris Hilton and why it's not easy to date a football player.
Stay tuned for our interview with Khloe tomorrow…
Celebuzz: You’ve said this will be the “craziest season yet” of Keeping Up With The Kardashians -- and that’s saying a lot! What makes this season so wild?
Kim: We are all in really different places than where we were last season. Kourtney has Mason, I move in to my own house, and of course this is the first season where I'm single... so with that comes some surprises!
We see you dating (football star Miles Austin) in the previews - did either of you have any reservations about putting a new relationship on-camera?
When we are filming, we literally shoot for hours and hours every day, so it's almost impossible not to reveal your personal relationships on camera. If you date me during filming it just kind of comes with the territory.
You said you didn't want to date another football player — why? And have you changed your mind?
The reason I said I didn't want to date football players was because they have very strict seasons and schedules and it makes a relationship really hard when you're living apart. That's not to say it's impossible to make it work... it's just harder.
Fans see you working very hard on the show... What is your chief career goal - and where would you like to see yourself in a few years?
Honestly, I'm a workaholic, so I'm always taking on new projects. I don't really have an ultimate career goal, just to put 100% into every project I take on. I have my shoe company, ShoeDazzle, we have our Bebe line, a beauty product range, a new fashion and home line with Bruno Schiavi, our first book, Kardashian Konfidential, will be out in November, my second fragrance will be coming out next year... so I've got lots to focus on right now. Also, I executive-produced The Spin Crowd, which starts this Sunday, so that's something really new and exciting for me.
You, Khloe and Kourtney are writing a book together that will include beauty tips and relationship advice. What relationship advice do you have for your fans?
My biggest relationship tip is to trust your heart, learn to compromise and always be honest. A lot of the time you can lose sight of things when you start letting other people into your relationship. Everyone wants to be involved, or give their 2 cents on the situation, but only you really know the ins and outs of the relationship.
Have you ladies ever considered co-hosting a talk show?
It would be hilarious if we had our own talk show, but I think Khloe's personality is more fitting to that of a talk show host than Kourt's or mine.
Kourtney and Khloe branched out and did a spin-off show (Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami)— will you ever do the same?
You never know what the future holds. If my schedule allowed it and it was something that would fit in with my lifestyle at the time... never say never.
You’re an executive producer on The Spin Crowd — about your pals and publicist extraordinaires Jonathan Cheban and Simon Huck. How do Jonathan and Simon compare to the Kardashians?
Just like Khloe, Jonathan literally speaks his mind, and will tell you exactly what he thinks. It's really refreshing, and that's why I love spending time with him. Remember when Khloe told my mom that her wedding dress was ugly on the last season? That's exactly how Jonathan is. He'll tell you you're wearing too much makeup and your dress is too tight, and he's not trying to hurt your feelings, he's just being blunt and honest. They are both hilarious, so if you liked them on Keeping Up, you'll LOVE The Spin Crowd.
What DON’T viewers know about the Kardashian/Jenner family?
Pretty much what you see on camera is what you get in real life. People always ask whether the show is scripted or whether we create these crazy situations just for the cameras. Unfortunately our lives really are that insane, LOL. I think that's why people love the show so much. You can't fake the dynamic between us... and people see how real we are, how much we all love each other and are there for each other. We're definitely not your average family, and there's always a little drama going on, but that's what makes life interesting.
Who is the craziest Kardashian in season 5?
Mason!! LOL, just kidding! I think we all have our moments. Mom definitely has some crazy moments which will surprise you all.
There were some recent rumors that said you and Paris Hilton were feuding at a party — is there any truth to that?
Every day I'm feuding with someone new according to the tabloids. This week I'm feuding with Kourtney because I'm jealous of her weight, apparently! LOL, well that's news to me! I lead a very positive life. My parents brought us up to focus on the positive and so I try not to let any negativity in. I keep positive people around me, have an amazing family and group of friends and just because I'm not best friends with someone doesn't mean we are feuding. It's ridiculous.
