Nikki Reed Talks ‘Breaking Dawn’ Birthing Scene

/ August 19, 2010

Nikki Reed is speaking for her gorgeous Twilight character, Rosalie, about Bella’s gruesome birth scene in Breaking Dawn.

Reed shared her theory on why Rosalie fights so hard for Bella’s baby’s life, telling MTV News:

I think that Rosalie just always wanted to be a mom, and that’s how I look at it…It has nothing to do with being pro-life or anything. I think it’s about her want, her need to be a mother, and this is the only opportunity she’s ever going to have, so she’s willing to let Bella die so she can have that and fulfill that, and that’s how I look at it. It’s her own personal desires.

The birthing scene will be painful to watch, according to Breaking Dawn screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who says she wants fans “to see the terror of the experience.” But as Jackson Rathbone recently pointed out, Breaking Dawn won’t be all bad.
