Demi Lovato Slams Twitter ... on Twitter
Shortly after becoming a trending topic on Twitter, teen superstar Demi Lovato started rallying against the site and other social media platforms, claiming they ruin young people's lives.
For her 18th birthday on August 20, Demi became a trending topic on Twitter, and two days later, she ranted on her Twitter:
Sometimes the internet can be so frustrating you wonder why you allow it in your life at all...It's just really sad how addicted to social networking we are. The start age is getting younger and younger...How many of you would choose reading a book over twitter?
Demi also retweeted a fan's statement that complained about how much the internet "wastes so much precious time you could be spending elsewhere."
It isn't really clear what sparked Demi's sudden change of heart about Twitter. The Sonny with a Chance star has over two million Twitter followers and she will often tweet at least once a day.

i follow her on twitter i got it on my phone so on the bus ect ill look through it, she is ALWAYS updating hers, but i know what its like i used 2 b addicted to facebook but knew i shouldnt b on there soo much lol and it may stop some of her fans using them

I like reading books more than social networking, lol. Me too lol. I just spent a whole day yesterday reading one. =p

the only reason she slammed twitter that day is because she was all over the internet saying she regrets not keeping her relationship with joe jonas a secret(because she talked 24/7 to the press about him) & at the same time joe & ashley were spotted kissing in NYC which made big news that day too.. no wonder she said it, plus she tweets stuff all the time & all of a sudden it hits her?
She does have a good point though...
it ruins ur lifee if u allow it to. all things can be great.... in MODERATION!! thats the part people forget. some of the people i follow tweet 24/7, they even tweet to say they r going to take a show brb lol now thats an addict. but if u remember to take time for other things then social networking sites rnt a bad thing and in some ways r good. they allow u to connect with friends and family even more. i heard about a story of a girl who crashed her bike in the woods or something and had no cell phone service so she tweet for help and one of her followers called 911 for her. so in some ways its good....and bad.
She does have a good point though...

she did not say that people should stop using internet,,she's just sharing her opinion about how people are being so dependent in social networking,,..come on guys wake up,,...lol!!!

She is right. But it's not going to stop people using sites like Twitter or Facebook. Like for me, Facebook is the only contact I have with my real parents. I got took into a care home when I was 7, then got adopted, so for me, It's really important that I keep in contact by using these social network sites.
I like reading books more than social networking, lol.
