Taylor Momsen Claims She Didn’t Dis Rihanna (VIDEO)

Is Taylor Momsen learning to—gasp!—temper her words?

The famously outspoken Gossip Girl actress/Pretty Reckless singer caught flak last week when she seemed to insult Rihanna, telling Spin magazine,

“People think pop is rock, and the lines are getting blurred. Now Rihanna’s wearing f****** leather jackets, and it’s really annoying.”

But while performing at the V Festival in the UK later in the week, Momsen clarified her statement, claiming that she has no hard feelings against the “Rude Boy” singer and going so far as to say that her comments were misrepresented:

“First of all I’d like to say that…it’s a misquote. I was arguing the difference between rock vs pop and it’s a very pop-oriented world at the moment and that is there is no rock and the people who dress or have guitars in their music…[for] audiences that’s the closet thing they have to rock and we are looking to bring back a real rock band and Rihanna, I wasn’t insulting Rihanna. Rihanna’s great… (Her collaboration with Eminem ‘Love the Way You Lie’) is awesome. That’s a great song.”
