Elin Nordegren Gives First (and Last) Divorce Interview
Tiger Woods' ex-wife Elin Nordegren is still dealing with the massive whirlwind that blew through her personal and family life this year following her husband's infidelity scandal, and in what she says will be her first and only interview regarding the matter, she tells PEOPLE that she's doing the best she can to heal.
Nordegren tells the magazine:
"I have been through the stages of disbelief and shock, to anger and ultimately grief over the loss of the family I so badly wanted for my children ... I also feel stronger than I ever have. I have confidence in my beliefs, my decisions and myself."
PEOPLE, which claims they spent 19 hours over four visits with Nordegren in the run-up to the finalization of her divorce from Woods, also reports that because Elin wants to keep a private profile, she won't be doing any more interviews.
"My immediate plan is for the kids and me to continue to adjust to our new situation. I am going to keep taking classes, but my main focus is to try to give myself time to heal," Nordegren told the magazine.
Elin, a Swedish supermodel who went on to have two children with Tiger, found herself at the center of a media blitz last November after a car accident at their home during Thanksgiving weekend turned Tiger from a golf legend into tabloid fodder. Following the accident, a slew of women came out alleging that they had affairs with the golf champion, eventually leading to Tiger admitting his infidelities during a press conference.
"I was unfaithful. I had affairs. I cheated ... What I did was not acceptable," Woods said during his press conference regarding the matter.
