Angelina Jolie to Star in Killer 'Unforgiven' Role
Angelina Jolie is going to have a lot on her plate in the coming months.
The Salt beauty, who's already set to make her directorial and scriptwriting debut with a historical romance set amid the Bosnian war of the '90s, will also be starring in a big-screen adaptation of the 2009 miniseries Unforgiven, Deadline New York reports.
The mini-series centered around a woman who, after serving a 15-year sentence for killing two policemen who attempted to evict her from her farmhouse, attempts to reunite with her younger sister and live a life of quiet solitude. Those hopes are quashed when the sons of one of her victims make her the target of a revenge campaign. Quite a stretch from Jolie's other upcoming high-profile role, as Queen of the Nile Cleopatra.
Screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie (X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2) is currently penning a script for the project, which will be produced by GK Films (which is also producing the upcoming Jolie/Johnny Depp project The Tourist, in theaters December 10).
