Will Forte Quits 'Saturday Night Live'
Looks like Saturday Night Live won't have Will Forte to blow up anymore.
The New York Times reports that Forte, who portrayed gloriously mulleted but explosion-prone special agent MacGruber as well as several other characters on the late-night sketch-comedy show, has resigned from the series as it prepares to enter its 36th season.
Forte's rep announced via e-mail,
“After eight great seasons, Will has made the decision to move on from ‘S.N.L.’ to pursue new opportunities. He is eternally grateful to Lorne and all of the incredible people he worked with over the years.”
Forte released his big-screen take on MacGruber in May, and will next be seen in the comedy A Good Old Fashioned Orgy, alongside Leslie Bibb, Don Johnson and SNL crony Jason Sudeikis.
