Entire 'Jersey Shore' Cast Sued for Assault
It sounds like "GTL" is starting to stand for "Gym, Tan, Lawsuit."
Adding to the mounting legal woes surrounding the hit reality series Jersey Shore, PopEater reports that the entire cast—Snooki, JWoww, The Situation and all—are being sued for assault by an unnamed woman who claims that the cast members' bodyguards roughed her up last fall.
The complainant—identified only as "J.P."—says that the assault took place in September 2009, on the very same night that JS star Ronnie Magro was allegedly filmed punching a man named Stephen Izzo Jr. in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. (Magro was subsequently arrested for aggravated assault.)
The lawsuit also names MTV and its parent company Viacom as defendants.
This isn't the only suit that the orange-hued reality TV sensations are facing. In July, Snooki (real name: Nicole Polizzi) and JWoww (born Jenni Farley) were slapped with a suit by Chicago woman Carrie Malec for allegedly assaulting her on camera while an episode of the show was filming in a Miami nightclub. MTV was also sued in March by a couple who claimed that they had been inaccurately depicted on an episode of the show which chronicled a heated argument between themselves and cast members Magro and Sammi Giancola.
When MTV was hoping that they'd have a hit on their hands with these guys, this probably wasn't what they were thinking of.
