How do you get a female audience to flock to a cop-buddy movie? Cast two of Hollywood’s biggest current heartthrobs as co-stars in its lead roles.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Green Lantern hunk Ryan Reynolds and The A-Team stud Bradley Cooper have signed on for an as-yet-unitiled action flick about a pair of friends who are San Francisco cops, and whose fathers were also on the force. The elder policemen come out of retirement to help their sons crack a case, at which point the hijinks presumably ensue.
The film, which will be written by Sheldon Turner (Up in the Air), is described as having “an updated Lethal Weapon flavor that plays into edgier R-rated territory.”
Guess Mel Gibson wasn’t available? After all, as Gibson has proven recently, he can definitely play edgy. Do you think Cooper and Reynolds will have good onscreen chemistry? Share your thoughts in the comments section.
