You Can Now Audition for ‘American Idol’ on MySpace!

American Idol
 is reaching out to the web. 

For the first time in Idol’s history. they are holding open auditions on MySpace.

Hopeful contestants ranging from ages 15 to 28 can submit an audition video now through October 6th for a chance to be a part of the 10th anniversary of American Idol. 

Audition tapes must not exceed 40 seconds and songs must come only from Idol’s list posted online. Those songs include Bill Withers’ ”Ain’t No Sunshine,” Keith Urbans “Kiss a Girl” and Barry Manilow’s “Copacabana.”

After auditions are closed, an undisclosed number of aspiring singers will be selected for the second round of auditions in Los Angeles. 

This isn’t the first time MySpace has been used to cast a show. Glee also went online in search of superstars. 

January marks the nest season of American Idol and will feature original judge Randy Jackson and will reportedly feature newcomers Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez.
