Inside Eminem and Jay-Z’s Megashow at Yankee Stadium

Eminem and Jay-Z put together two mammoth, star-studded shows this week on back-to-back days at Yankee Stadium, brought to life by a guest list representing the best hip-hop has to offer.

Em’s set began with “Won’t Back Down” from Recovery, but was soon interruped by 50 Cent, who performed “Patiently Waiting” and fan favorite “In Da Club.” Dr. Dre shocked crowds when he made a surprise visit right in the middle of “The Real Slim Shady.” Subsequently, the duo cranked out Dre’s classic “Nothin’ But A G Thang” with Eminem filling in for Snoop Dogg.

New Yorker Jay-Z went second, presumably because he had home field advantage, but the early part of his set was dominated by none other than Kanye West, who sang “Power” and “Good Life” among others before relenting the mic. Guest spots from Nicki Minaj, Drake and Coldplay singer Chris Martin rounded out the evening.

As the night drew on, Jay announced to those fans who stayed past midnight that he would be closing out with a few lesser known tracks, but then proceeded to jam out the hits “Izzo” and “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” for a fitting end to one of the biggest shows of the year.
