Selena Gomez Reveals the Secret to Her Vocal Style

Ever wonder how Selena Gomez manages to achieve such dulcet-toned perfection when she hits the stage with her band, The Scene?

The Wizards of Waverly Place star-turned-pop sensation recently revealed the secret to her singing style on British music program Top of the Pops (via Ocean Up):

“Before I go onstage, I drink olive oil. It’s disgusting, but it’s good for your throat. Then I grab grab my band and we do vocal warm ups and dance. After that, we put our hands together and say a little prayer. I don’t ask for anything too fancy, just some tea. I usually have lemons and pickles, I really love salty and sour things. I always like to have my favorite boots, too. They are very important as I wear them for all my shows, I haven’t fallen over in them yet.”

No doubt, taking a dive on stage isn’t likely to help one’s confidence as a performer, as so many celebrities have learned in the past.

Alas, while olive oil may prove to be the magic elixir for SelGo’s music career, some concoctions don’t go down quite as smoothly for the Disney starlet. Gomez recently appeared on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show, where the host challenged her to try one of his “Brazilian Thunder” green-kale smoothies. Check out the hilarious results in the video below:
