'SNL'-Bashing Kanye West to Be Musical Guest
Saturday Night Live will soon become The Kanye West Show.
The "Runaway" rapper and red suit aficionado will take his vocal prowess to the NBC sketch comedy giant on October 2, one week after Katy Perry and Amy Poehler rock the 36th season premiere on September 25th.
Musical-guesting on SNL (alongside Emmy-winning host Bryan Cranston) will allow Kanye to promote his upcoming album, which is set to drop some time in November and may be titled Dark Twisted Fantasy, according to hints from Mr. West.
Perhaps most surprising about Kanye's Oct. 2 gig is the fact that he blasts 'SNL' in his new tune 'Power,' likely due to the jokes aimed at him following his Taylor Swift Video Music Awards controversy last year. In the song, West rants: "F--- SNL and the whole cast
Tell ‘em Yeezy said they can kiss my whole a-- / More specifically, they can kiss my a------."
After Kanye and Bryan do their thing, Glee's Jane Lynch will make her debut on the SNL stage on Oct. 9th with musical guest Bruno Mars, who was arrested for alleged cocaine possession on Sunday. Two weeks later on October 23, Easy A hottie Emma Stone helms SNL for the very first time!
We're looking at an exciting season, folks. Which SNL host-and-guest combo are you most looking forward to see? Sound off in the poll below.
