Joaquin Phoenix, Leonardo DiCaprio to Play Gay Lovers?

Joaquin Phoenix may mark his post-fake-rap-career return to the silver screen with a kiss for Leonardo DiCaprio.

Clint Eastwood is now courting Joaquin to play a leading role opposite Leo in his new J. Edgar Hoover biopic as the former FBI director’s alleged secret gay lover. Although neither have officially signed on for the film, both actors are expected to clinch the job since the grizzled Oscar-winning director has supposedly made it clear they are his first choices.

Eastwood’s Hoover, which is authored by Milk screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, will delve into the complicated and perhaps sexual relationship between the first director of the FBI (who served from 1935-1972) and his right-hand man, Associate FBI Director Clyde Tolson. Hoover and Tolson often dined together, mingled in nightclubs and vacationed together.

Is this a good career choice for Joaquin Phoenix or Leonardo DiCaprio? Is an Oscar on the horizon? Let us know in the comments section.
