Five Things You Need to Know About BG5

The Kardashians are some of the hardest working women in showbiz, so when Kris Jenner struggled to decide whether to manage the girl group BG5 (short for Beach Girl5) on last night’s season premiere episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, we’re sure you’ve been scouring the internet trying to find out more about them.

Well, look no further, because Celebuzz has all the inside info on what you need to know about music’s hottest up and coming girl group. Here’s five interesting little tidbits to school you on everything BG5:

1. Volleyball brought them together

One of the first things you need to know about BG5 is how they met.

The girls, Brooke Adams, Noreen Juliano, Mandy Jiroux, Laura New and Dominique Domingo, all met while on the Professional Volleyball AVP tour.

Although they had been booked to perform individually, the girls quickly bonded and realized they made a great team. When the tour ended, they decided to band together to create new music and began performing shows as Beach Girl5.

2. They’ve got the Rock Mafia on their side

When you hear the name Rock Mafia, you think huge stars like Mariah Carey and Miley Cyrus. But now when you hear that name, Beach Girl5 will be added to that list.

That’s right, one of music’s most successful producers has been collaborating with the ladies of BG5, and it’s not just the legendary producers that will make their music rock.

Each lady has been creatively involved with every track on their new album.

3. Fifteen City Tour Starts in November

If you liked what you saw on Keeping Up last night, you’ll be able to see BG5 perform in a city near you starting in November.

Although their first single Scratch won’t be released until January, you can get a sneak peek of their catchy sounds in one of the fifteen cities they’ll be visiting (or in this YouTube teaser!).

And don’t worry, these girls will not disappoint. They’ve had plenty of practice in the last few months, including opening for Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez at this year’s PopCon.

4. They’re No Strangers to Showbiz

Before creating BG5, each girl had experienced success in the biz from record contracts to back up dancing, so everyone had something unique to bring to the table. Noreen and Mandy each spent time as back up dancers before joining BG5. Noreen worked with Eminem and Wade Robson, while Mandy toured with Miley Cyrus, who is still a close friend.

Brooke signed a record contract at the age of 14, and Laura began performing in various theater productions in her native Sydney at a young age. Dominique met Noreen while on the set of Bring It On, and the two went on to sing in the group Soxx, which experienced much success in Germany.

5. Took Home the top prize at Wango Tango’s Breakout Stars Contest

Every year, KIIS FM hosts the widely popular concert, Wango Tango which has boasted artists such as Usher, Lady GaGa and Enrique Iglesias. Along with the concert, they host the Break Out Stars contest which features only the most talented new artists.

This year, BG5 were lucky enough to stand out from the crowd and take home the top spot. Along with a $10,000 prize, they were given the honor of performing in front of thousands of concert goers.

With the talent they possess and a manager like Kris Jenner, the ladies of BG5 have all the tools necessary for success and are well on their way to becoming music’s next big thing.
