Lindsay Lohan's Foiled Rehab Bust-Out

Time will tell if Lindsay Lohan can get her acting career back on track, but one thing's for sure—she definitely shouldn't pursue a career as a break-out artist as a fallback.

Radar Online reports that the troubled actress—who's currently undergoing rehab therapy at the Betty Ford Center—made an unsuccessful attempt to break out of the joint earlier this week, in search of some forbidden contraband.

The contraband in question? Soda. Yeah, really.

It seems that the Betty Ford Center has banned caffeine—and, thus, soda dispensers—from its grounds. The nearby Eisenhower Medical Center, however, boasts a vending machine among its amenities, and LiLo developed a too-powerful-to-ignore craving for a carbonated beverage ... at which point she hatched a plan with a fellow patient to make a break for it.

So what went wrong? Well, apparently, their plan hit a little snag. Literally.

According to a source, LiLo's accomplice got her clothing caught on a fence, leading to a most embarrassing end to their botched getaway:

"Lindsay and her co-conspirator were forced to give it up and flag down a volunteer, who was crossing the center's grounds on a golf cart...The pair was safely returned, decaffeinated, to their hall, were they were the center of a process meeting over what they had done."

It's a shame that Lohan and her partner in crime weren't able to obtain the soda; it would have helped them wash down all of the humble pie they were forced to eat.
